A Plea for Help-The Churches of Kenya

There are very few days in which I don’t witness a small miracle in my life. I’m not talking about the miracles of saints visiting me or being blessed to see myrrh streaming down my icons, no I see miracles in how people respond to each other in the face of crisis. I’m not a saint, just a worthless sinner in the eyes of God, one who needs forgiveness and repentance on a daily basis as I walk the straight and narrow path. But there are times in my life, when God tells you that you need to write about something, not for your own benefit, but the benefit of others. Those of you who follow me and blog know that I have talked about watching YouTube videos for a long time. Of course you will know that I have recently discovered Panayiotis, a dude who loves sharing the miracles of Christ with his fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. Not only does he share the videos of miracles from around the world, he also spends his time helping those in need. His charity that he has established by the grace of God and the blessing of his own spiritual father, is one that has raised money for churches in Kenya. Today I am going to talk about the service that people are doing to Kenya rebuilding the 30 churches that have been left abandoned due to a variety of issues. It is something that needs to be brought to light, not for the glory of Panayiotis or Archbishop Markario, rather it is for the glory of God that I share this with you that you might find hope and peace within these words.

This charity is a simple GoFundMe that was organized by Panayiotis after he realized that 30+ churches in Kenya were need of dire repairs and restoration. As I have discussed in a previous blog on Orthodox Africa, the continent is a place laden with a rich harvest for Christ that is in need of workers in the field. I will link the GoFundMe at the end of this article so that people can if they wish go and donate on behalf of Panayiotis for the restoration of these churches. Kenya is not the first place that you think of when you think of Orthodoxy, but like all nations needs the gospel of Jesus Christ for the salvation of their souls.  While there may be many places of worship, there are not very many orthodox churches in Kenya, at least not enough to serve the population. When Panayiotis found out about this, he immediately began setting up an opportunity for those who wished to help him in the endeavor of restoring these churches and bringing Orthodoxy to Kenya in a way that it had never seen before. From the onset, this charity raised money on the behalf of the people of Kenya, and were blessed to build not one, not two, not even three churches. In fact they are currently working on their 10th church as we speak, raising the money and showing that God’s people, his holy Israel, is united in their cause.  Through the grace of the Almighty God the blessings of God have been poured out.

Short and sweet. Unfortunately I have not the right nor the gift to tell you of this wonderful blessing that God has done in Africa through the charity. May God bless it abundantly!

            Amen
